Actief celebrated her centenary year in 2007. Constructed as a cargo vessel in 1907 she spent the first 70 years plying her trade on the other side of the English Channel. Brought over to the UK in 1976 she was converted into a luxury hotel and has been refurbished and updated regularly since then. In the winter of 2005/6 new marble floored bathrooms and air conditioning were installed and 2007/8 saw a major refit and systems upgrade.
The saloon is elegant, attractive and provides comfortable living on board. Our library contains a good selection of reference books on the River Thames and those places you will visit en-route. There is also a stereo system with a wide range of music for all tastes, together with various board and card games. Our well stocked bar is found here and a cheerful crew member is always on hand to serve guests with drinks of their choice.
Each cabin is charmingly individual, comfortable, warm, light and airy, beautifully decorated, has private facilities and air conditioning. Our spacious sundeck is adorned with colourful flower boxes and comfortable seating.
